EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND TRAINING COORDINATOR, Precinct 1LocationRegular Full-timeJob Number10037Opening Date11/18/2024Closing Date12/7/2024 at 11:59 PM Central Time (US & Canada)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees the preventative maintenance and repair of precinct assigned heavy equipment and vehicles and light vehicles.Conducts all administrative activities required to facilitate maintenance processes.Develops tools and measures to ensure effective and efficient maintenance performance and to foster process improvement.Ensures employees have the tools, parts, supplies, and information needed to work at a high performance and high-quality level.Drives personnel training and development to optimize capabilities in the workplace.Evaluates, schedules and tracks equipment repairs.Assists mechanics with diagnosis and repairs.Tracks and monitors Equipment Preventative Maintenance.Analyzes repair needs and orders parts or outsources repairs.Monitors, administers, tracks and orders budget items.Analyzes equipment and fleet needs and develops specifications to purchase.Develops and implements Precinct safety programs.Develops and implements training programs and employee development.Prepares and submits damage claims to Risk Management Department.Monitors, orders and tracks fuel. Monitors fuel dispensing and safety systems.Performs all other duties as required.NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher + Three (3) full-time years of heavy off-road equipment repair work experience.ORTO APPLY, must have an Associate's Degree + Five (5) full-time years of heavy off-road equipment repair work experience.ORTO APPLY, must have a High School diploma or GED + Seven (7) full-time years of heavy off-road equipment repair work experience.TO APPLY, must have a Class "A" CDL with hazmat endorsement.Must have the ability to organize, plan, and make decisions.Must have knowledge of budget and finance.Must have the ability to institute, manage, and coordinate training and development programs.Must have Spreadsheet and database development experience.Must have the ability to develop and implement process improvements.Must have extensive knowledge of equipment maintenance programs, preventative maintenance, fleet management and tracking and scheduling of preventative maintenance.Must have knowledge of diesel engines and on-and off-road maintenance procedures.Must have advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.Must have advanced knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.Must have thorough knowledge of road construction and maintenance.If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push and pull.
