Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention

• Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident rates, trends, and recommendations for improvement

• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability

• Provide training and education on safety topics, including hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment

• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to workplace safety

• Safety Coordinator needs experience in dredging, concrete work, demolition, blasting, and excavations

• Experience in building structures and similar projects upwards of $40 million

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field

• 7+ years of experience required

• OSHA 30 required

• Proven experience in safety management or a similar role

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams
