QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, with a successful background in coaching, preferably at the college level. Candidates should possess administrative, organizational, and recruiting skills, and be able to establish good rapport and working relationships with student athletes, coaches, and the college community. Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations is essential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare an agenda/itinerary for all team travel, and present travel rosters to the Athletics Director 48 hours prior to departure.
- Coordinate study hall for student athletes under supervision.
- Organize and conduct practice sessions on a regular schedule.
- Prepare a list of all basic and special needs for travel and home contests, and provide copies to relevant staff 10 days prior to events.
- Manage inventory and issuance of all supplies for the sports activity.
- Assist in preparing an Athlete Handbook or orientation manual, to be discussed with student athletes before participation.
- Supervise conduct and behavior of student athletes on and off campus.
- Monitor academic progress of student athletes bi-weekly and submit weekly progress reports to the Athletic Director.
- Establish and maintain profile folders for each student athlete.
- Obtain health clearances from health services for each athlete prior to participation.
- Recruit participants both on and off campus, informing students about the institution's policy on financial assistance.
- Submit a proposed schedule of games for the sport.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
