TEKsystems is seeking a Core IP Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust IP/MPLS core network for a leading Alaska-based ISP. This role involves working with cutting‑edge technologies in a collaborative, remote environment. You'll play a key role inensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the company's carrier‑grade network infrastructure.This position is 100% remote, working typical daytime Alaska business hours, Monday through Friday.Key Responsibilities50% – Plan, design, implement, and document new network solutions20% – Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams20% – Create Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages10% – Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environmentsQualificationsStrong experience with Alcatel/Nokia and Juniper routers/switchesAdvanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP)Familiarity with RSVP, LDP, PIM, and data center network designProficiency in Ethernet technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG)Skilled in Microsoft Visio for network documentationExcellent project management, communication, and problem‑solving skillsAbility to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across departmentsPreferred CertificationsNokia: NRS I / IIJuniper: JNCIA / JNCISSkills RequiredCore Networking: Nokia and Juniper IP EngineeringProtocols: MPLS, IS‑IS, BGP, OSPFDocumentation: MOPs (Methods of Procedure) creationNice‑to‑HaveExperience with MetasolvJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
