Job Description Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) to join our client's dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices in accordance with purchase orders (POs) and company policies. This role involves handling repetitive AP tasks with precision while also contributing to higher-level accounting functions. The ultimate goal is to streamline the AP process to achieve a consistent and efficient weekly check run.Key Responsibilities:Invoice Processing:Accurately enter and code invoices according to POs and company policies.Verify invoice details, including quantities, prices, and approvals, to ensure compliance with POs.Address and resolve any discrepancies between invoices, POs, and receiving reports.AP Reconciliation:Perform monthly AP reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts.Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and resolve any outstanding issues.Weekly Check Runs:Prepare and process weekly check runs, ensuring timely payments to vendors.Maintain a well-organized system for tracking due dates and prioritizing payments.Higher-Level Accounting Functions:Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.Support the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.Participate in internal audits and assist with external audit requests.Collaborate with other departments to improve the AP process and implement best practices.Vendor Communication:Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues promptly and professionally.Maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure smooth operations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.If this sounds like a good fit for you, please apply today!Company Description The Specialized Recruiting Group (part of Express Employment Professionals) office in Tyler, TX offers a tailored approach to professional placement, delivering personalized service that matches the unique needs of both companies and talented candidates.
