Hotel accommodations will be provided by the client during training.Interview Process:Video Conference Interviews, Monday–Friday, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM CST.Job SummaryWe are seeking Gas Meter Exchange Technicians to support the Gas Meter Project in Beaumont and Tyler TX area. This is a field-based position involving the replacement of residential gas meters, performing safety inspections, identifying and repairing gas leaks, and interacting directly with utility customers.The selected candidates will receive approximately six weeks of training in the Houston, TX area. Client will provide the required training, certifications, uniforms, company vehicle, handheld devices, tools, and equipment necessary to perform the job.Key ResponsibilitiesRemove and replace residential gas meters.Install new gas meters.Replace gas regulators when necessary.Conduct gas leak tests and perform necessary repairs.Perform final meter testing and safety inspections.Build gas meter loops.Safely shut off and relight gas appliances.Identify hazardous or abnormal conditions related to gas meters.Record installation data using company-provided handheld devices.Meet daily productivity and installation targets.Communicate professionally with utility customers.Follow all applicable safety procedures and operational guidelines.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.Ability to pass a background check.Ability to pass a DOT PHMSA-compliant drug screen.Successful completion of all required pre-employment assessments.Ability to successfully complete Operator Qualification (OQ) training and certification.Strong communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and perform field-based duties.Ability to use hand tools and perform physical labor.Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.Preferred QualificationsPrevious Natural Gas Field Service experience.Experience with gas meter installation, replacement, or repair.Experience working with computers, handheld devices, and software applications.Familiarity with field service operations and utility customer interactions.Physical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions.Ability to walk, climb, bend, and stoop for up to 10 hours per day.Regular use of hand tools.Ability to lift and exert up to 30 lbs. of force as needed.Training & Equipment ProvidedClient will provide the following:Operator Qualification (OQ) Training and Certifications.Company Vehicle.Uniforms.Handheld Device.All required tools and equipment for the job.Additional InformationThe initial contract duration is 6 months, with a long-term opportunity and potential extension of up to 2 years.Approximately 6 weeks of training will be provided in the Houston, TX area.Hotel accommodations during the training period will be provided by the client.Candidates must successfully complete the required OQ training and certification before performing assigned work.An MVR screening is required before employment and every six months for active contingent workers.Video conference interviews will be conducted Monday through Friday between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM CST.This is a field-based position requiring daily outdoor work and direct interaction with utility customers.EEOC Compliance:We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.DISCLAIMERAI Usage Policy: Pacer Group uses AI to assist in screening applications.
